biggest Heinoustuck pet peeve

god damn how i hate it when people draw Heinoustuck characters smiling.
THEY ARE NOT ENJOYING ANYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING TO THEM
THEY DON'T LIKE THE WAY THEY LOOK, THEY ARE IN PAIN, THEY ARE AFRAID OF THEMSELVES.
I DON'T THINK THEY WOULD BE SMILING.
the only exception is Rose. For Rose, the bigger the smile the better. It makes her look creepier.
Now, i understand that some people do it to make it look creepy. if pulled off correctly, yeah, it is pretty badass.
but, i hate it when they look like they're all "oh yay! look! we're freaks off nature now!"
no. just stop.
thats why in all of my Heinoustuck drawings, they dont look so happy.
if anything, they look sad or in pain.
thats how i want them.
*shrugs*
but thats just me and my preference.
